BERNEHEISEL RACE CARS TO AWARD ULMS
CHAMPIONS
Bernheisel Race Cars Inc., of Jonestown, Pennsylvania will award the 2006
ULMS BRC Lazer Series dirt late model champion and Rookie of the Year
champion a new Lazer G2 chassis. The United Late Model Series will open
their 2006 campaign on Saturday, April 29 at McKean County Raceway with the
$2000 to win, Jim Duffy Memorial.
ULMS Director, Chris Zuver, commented, "I am very excited about the upcoming
season. With Bernheisel Race Cars coming on board and offering our series
champion and our rookie of the year a new car, this is real good incentive
for some young drivers that can not afford a new rolling chassis to get into
a new car for the 2007 season without the big cost. Bernheisel's client
list has been growing over the past few years as he obviously has done well
in his own brand on the MACS and the old Renegade circuit. Dan Stone of
Thompson, PA, Alan Sagi of Hagerstown, MD and Todd Andrews of Eldred, PA are
a few of the notable drivers that have won in the Lazer brand."
For the ULMS series champion and rookie of the year to obtain the new Lazer
G2 chassis they must purchase the following: front and rear suspension
kits, steering kit, brake kit and rear-end kit for $5,995.00. The total
package of the new car is valued at $11,000. The new BRC Lazer G2 must also
been raced at least ten (10) times in 2007. Also the 3rd, 5th and 7th place
car in ULMS points will receive gift certificates good toward any purchase
at Bernheisel Race Cars Inc.
To be eligible for the ULMS rookie of the year, drivers must register with
ULMS before the first event of the season. The driver MUST have never won a
ULMS feature event or have less than five years driving experience in a late
model. ULMS "Rookie of the Year" points will count at all point events in
2006. Upon registering for ULMS "Rookie of the Year", driver may not
compete for "Rookie of the Year" in future racing seasons. The driver
selected as ULMS "Rookie of the Year" will be determined by highest finish
in points and declared "Rookie of the Year" at end of the season.
The chase for the new Lazer's starts April 29 at McKean County Raceway in
East Smethport, PA, where the winner will walk away with a minimum of $2000
for his 30 laps of effort. For more information, check the new ULMS website

ULMS RETURNS HOME TO MCR FOR SERIES OPENER
The ULMS BRC Lazer Challenge Series will kick off its 2006 season at, McKean
County Raceway in East Smethport, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 29. The
annual Jim Duffy Memorial will be on tap and this event will pay $2000 to
win for the 30 lap main event for the super dirt late models.
McKean County Raceway is a 3/8 mile oval that sits in the rural town of
Smethport, PA and is home of many of the ULMS regulars and is definitely
home of some of the top regional dirt late model drivers in the northeast.
ULMS has had four races at MCR since 2002 and there have been four different
winners. Chub Frank of Bear Lake, PA, two-time ULMS champion, Dick Barton,
Ron Davies and defending MCR champion, Bob Close all have grabbed ULMS wins
at MCR. Davies is the all time ULMS feature winner.
The opening night event is in memory of the late Jim Duffy. Mr. Duffy was a
very important part of the rebuilding of the racetrack in the early 1980s.
He returned to late model racing in the mid 1980s and on opening night in
1989, he passed away after running the opening nights heat race. This
year's memorial race will be the biggest paying race in his memory!
The ULMS season comprises of events in Pennsylvania, New York and joint
sanction events in Ontario, Canada with the Ontario Dirt Late Model Series
(ODLM). The Canadian shows will be under ODLM rules. The ULMS Lazer
Challenge Series will once again sanction the annual Woodhull Late Model
Reunion in the Boonies at Woodhull Raceway in Woodhull, NY. This year's
event will be a normal ULMS event, with open tire rule and open to any and
all race teams.
The 2006 ULMS champion will receive a new BRC Lazer G2 chassis, courtesy of
Jim Bernheisel and the 2006 ULMS Rookie of the Year will also receive a new
Lazer Chassis from Bernheisel Race Cars Incorporated.
To be eligible for the ROY, race teams must register with ULMS before the
first event of the season. The driver must have never won a ULMS feature
event or have less than five years driving experience in a super late model.
ULMS Director, Chris Zuver, commented, "I am very excited to open our 2006
season at McKean County and be part of their season opener. I consider MCR
home, as I was raised in Smethport and have spent many Saturday nights since
the early 80s at the track. I am very eager to get the season going. We
have a nice schedule of with many shows at McKean and our series champion
and rookie of the year will be awarded a new Bernheisel Lazer chassis. This
is a huge contingency sponsor and I hope it leads into better sponsor
programs in 2007. We are still attempting to finalize a few more shows for
the upcoming 2006 season as well."
The series opener is less than a month away. ULMS invites all the dirt late
model fans to come out and support the ULMS BRC Lazer Challenge Series
drivers as they battle for the minimum $2000 first place prize on April 29
at McKean County Raceway. Defending track champion, Bob Close will look to
defend his turf against all the other ULMS stars. Will he succeed? Come
out and find out on April 29! For more information, check out
