South Jersey Sprint Car Club 7/15

Twenty cars from the South Jersey Sprint Car Club took the field for their first Friday Night 25 Lap Feature Race of the 2005 season at Bridgeport Speedway. Jim Wyers starting at mid pack took his first Feature Win of the 2005 season after winning the 270cc Feature Race earlier during the night.
Jim is also the points leader in the 270cc division with two victories to his credit on the 1/4 track for 2005.

The track conditions were excellent, smooth and a little tacky enabling multi-grovve racing throughout the race. Jim is the 4th different winner in as many races for the Jasper Sprints in 2005, acheived by running a high line and retaining his momentum on the fast 5/8 dirt track.

Top Ten Finishers were 1. Jim Wyers 2. Tim Iulg 3. Mares Stellfox 4. Joe Thuet 5. Bob Rasmussen 6. Shane Smith 7. Scott McClaren 8. Mike Piersig 9. Bill Jackson 10. Tyler Ramierz.

With this victory Jim is also the points leader for the Jasper Sprint Division as well!

The Jasper Sprints will be back at Bridgeport this Saturday 7-23-2005 to continue the excitement.......WHO WILL BE THE NEXT WINNER??

JASPER SPRINTS 6/25

Twenty one cars from the South Jersey Sprint Car Club took the field for their 3rd Feature of the 2005 season Saturday night at Bridgeport Speedway. Tim Iulg starting back in the field proved just what this division is all about by capturing his FIRST Sprint Car Victory.

Tim who is a former 600cc Micro Sprint Champion at Bridgeport showed he is ready to step up to the full size Sprints, running a clean and calculating race working his way to the front of the field and battling with "Mr Excitement" Jeff Mueller on the closing laps of the Feature. Running the low line with Jeff running high had the fans standing up in their seats.

A great testimony to this division, in three races we have three different winners and always a high level of excitement for the fans.

Top Five Finishers were Tim Iulg, Jeff Mueller, John Weyers, Jim Weyers, and Mike Piersig.

Bridgeport Speedway has added 3 more races for the South Jersey Sprint Car Club in 2005, 7-79, 8-12, and 10-1, in addition two of the already scheduled events will be 25 Lap Features on 7-23 and 9-24. So now that the weather is cooperating the South Jersey Sprint Car Club is enjoying the competitive racing they are known for. and with the addition of the new racing nights for the division giving more opportunities to tighten the points race even more. Our next schedule event at Bridgeport Speedway if 7-15-2005, our first Friday night race of the season.

ANDREW WELDON ONE OF SIX NEW JASPER TEAMS TO COMPETE AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

Andrew Weldon from Glen Mills, Pa is one of 6 new teams competing in the Jasper Sprints Division at Bridgeport Speedway.

Andrew is 21 years old, his background includes, extensive drag racing, graduate of the “Finish Line Racing School” in New Smyrna Beach, FL.

Sponsors of the beautiful # 32 machine: Concordville Inn, Holiday Inn, Best Western, Mendenhall Inn, Vandenbraak Plumbing, Northeast Body Shop Chassis-2001 Shaw.

As Owner / Driver this is Andrew’s first year racing on a dirt track, and his team’s excitement level is building as they prepare his 2001 Shaw Chassis, and the days get closer to the South Jersey Sprint Car clubs first race on April 23rd.

The South Jersey Sprint Car Club will be starting it’s 6th season at Bridgeport Speedway and as per the plan of offering affordable and very competitive Sprint Car racing every year we see more new teams joining the club to take advantage of this program. The “Jasper Sprints’ obtain speeds in excess of 135 MPH around the FAST 5/8 mile Bridgeport banked oval, so the Club is gaining more and more popularity every year with the fans at Bridgeport.

You can see some the South Jersey Sprint Car Club’s cars at the Granite Run Mall in Media, Pa. For the 4th Annual Bridgeport Speedway Weekend April 2nd and 3rd during regular Mall hours. This year’s event benefits “Operation Warm” providing warm winter coats to needy children throughout the Greater Delaware Valley every year.
