COMPETITION HAS BEEN INTENSE IN RECENT WEEKS
BECHTELSVILLE, PA JUNE 26, 2007 . . . There has been some intense racing action
at the NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA in recent

Josh Weller earned his first career United Racing Company sprint car victory in
a close run to the checkered flag. And just last Saturday night six-time
champion Craig VonDohren topped five-time champion Jeff Strunk and multi-time
champion/current point leader Duane Howard in a down to the wire event.
In addition the NASCAR Late Models have offered some crowd pleasing
entertainment. With the return of all time leading feature winner Jon Kellner
Sr. and fan favorite Harry Neiman the action should be turned up a notch.

action as part of the Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek Series. The 410-sprint cars
and the 358-modifieds will be in action. Both are excitement producing events.

event will be the Firecracker 40 for Late Models and a full show of NASCAR
Modifieds.

FANTASTIC FINISH AT GRANDVIEW HAS VONDOHREN TOPS IN
MODS, SIPE AND GARDNER ALSO WINNERS
BECHTELSVILLE, PA JUNE 24, 2007 . . . There was a fantastic three car battle
during the final laps that resulted in a fantastic finish that had Craig
VonDohren winning the 30-lap Hatfield Quality Meats NASCAR Whelen All American
Modified feature race by just the narrowest of margin on Saturday night at
Grandview Speedway.
In the 20-lap main event for the NASCAR Late Models Bryon Sipe rode to the first
feature victory of his career and Kyle Gardner won the 20-lap Mangold Excavating
600 Modified feature.
Randy Bailey went to the front at the drop of the green for the NASCAR Modifieds
and the veteran Kutztown racer set the pace for the first five laps. A red flag
brought a halt to action when a fan fell in the grandstands but was
found to be not injured. On the restart VonDohren was able to put the Mike
Harvey/Stauffer Construction No. 1c in front the 29 car feature field.
Bailey and John Tschudy proved to be tough competition for VonDohren up to the
15th lap when Jeff Strunk, coming from 11th, dropped in behind VonDohren and put
some pressure on for first place.
At 19 laps Randy Bailey went to the pits and now the three car race was on with
VonDohren in front followed by Strunk and now Duane Howard who had come up from
12th start position.
The balance of the 30-lapper had Strunk and Howard going side-by-side battling
for the runner-up position and VonDohren loving every minute of that as it kept
them from challenging him. In the final couple laps Howard managed to get by
Strunk and proceeded to ride right on VonDohren’s bumper to the finish.
Oley based VonDohren earned his second win of the season worth $2,200. Howard,
also from Oley, winner of four features this season settled for second followed
by Jeff Strunk (Mohnton), Mike Gular (East Greenville) and Tommy Sheetz Jr.
(Boyertown).
In victory lane VonDohren told the crowd that he stuck to the top of the track
and cut the corners in his winning effort.
Leesport’s Bryon Sipe brought his Haus Automotive/Georgio Mushroom sponsored No.
33 home first in the 20-lapper for Late Models leading all the laps. Though it
may seem like he had a easy time of it on the way to his first ever feature win
he had his hands full with Rick Todorow and Kyle Merkel. Both racers kept the
pressure on the leader for the entire 20-lap race. And with just a few laps left
Randy Stoudt was able to come up to challenge the leaders.
At the finish Sipe had a comfortable lead over Rick Todorow (Quakertown) to grab
the victory. Third spot went to Kyle Merkel (Gilbertsville) followed by
Pottstown’s Randy Stoudt and Chuck Schutz.
The 20-lap main event for the Xcel 600 Modifieds saw Brian Mady and Scott
Washburn swap the lead early. Washburn crashed putting him out of action and
giving the top spot to Kyle Gardner. The Wind Gap, PA racer help on to the top
spot for all of the final 10 laps to win the biggest check of his career,
$1,000, for taking the victory in the Mangold Excavating sponsored event. Second
spot went to Brian Mady followed by George Loux, Mike Pychink and Curt Amey.
Qualifying heat races for the 600 Modifieds went to Adam Ressler and Kevin
Gruber. In the Late Models the preliminaries were won by Dean Stoudt, Chuck
Schutz and Rick Todorow.
Modified qualifying event victories were earned by Brad Missimer, Kyle Weiss,
Duane Howard and Randy Bailey. The consolation races were won by Mike Gular and
Kerry Kratz.
The Cornerstone Auto Sales of Fleetwood, PA Hard Charger Awards went to Mike
Gular in the NASCAR Modifieds, for the second week in a row, charging from 21st
to 4th gaining 17 spots in the feature. In the Late Models it was Ron Kline
going from 23rd to 8th for a gain of 15 spots.
Lucky fan Bruce Erb will receive a check for $500 from the Maverick’s Motorcycle
Club for picking the top three finishers in the correct order of finish in the
NASCAR Modified feature. Erb is the first winner of the season in the Maverick’s
Motorcycle Club Pick 3 Contest found in the track magazine, the Grandview
Groove.
On Saturday, June 30th, Allstate Insurance Co. will sponsor the doubleheader
show of NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models starting at 7:30 p.m.
Coming up on Tuesday, July 3rd is the Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek 410 sprint
races plus 358 Modifieds in action. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
FIREWORKS will be a big attraction at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, July 7th
as part of Norris Mechanical Contractors Night. The Firecracker 40 Late Model
Championship will be topping the racing program along with the NASCAR Modifieds.
The show gets the green at 7:30 p.m.
Fans now have the opportunity to win a chance to be the official starter during
the NASCAR Modified warm up sessions each Saturday night.

HOWARD AND WELLER TAKE FEATURE VICTORIES AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
Bechtelsville, PA June 17, 2007 . . . Early evening rain showers that delayed
the start of racing at Grandview Speedway for about 45 minutes made for a
lightning fast clay oval. The very fast track proved to the liking of past
champion Duane Howard as he won his fourth NASCAR Whelen All American Modified
feature, a 30-lapper, on Saturday night. The 25-lap feature for United Racing
Company sprint cars, the second part of Troy Wink Motorsports Night, went to
Josh Weller.
Weller (Mertztown) charged to the front of the 24-car starting field and managed
to lead every lap of the 25-lap feature to earn his first career feature victory
with the URC sprint cars.
In the early part of the feature race Ed Aikin, a former Late Model champion at
the track, challenged for the top spot from his third place starting spot. At
the nine lap marker Chris Coyle moved from fourth to second with defending
champion Curt Michael right behind.
For the next 20-laps it was quite a battle for the lead with Coyle sticking very
close to the rear of Weller while Curt Michael was waiting for either of the
front running duo to make a mistake.
In the final laps Coyle (Wilmington, DE) put heavy pressure on the fleet running
Weller but had to settle for second. Curt Michael (Ocean View, DE) came home
third. Ed Aikin (Lincoln University, PA) finished fourth followed by Kramer
Williamson (Palmyra, PA).
Both Davey Sammons and Mares Stellfox flipped their sprinters during the feature
event but suffered no injuries.
The 30-lap feature for the NASCAR Modifieds proved to be the excitement event of
the night at least for the final 10 laps on the one-third-mile, banked clay
track.
Todd Marburger went to the front of the field from his third place starting
position in the 29 car field. The lead was short lived as Kerry Kratz moved to
the front and stayed in front of the action until the 7th lap when the red flag
brought a halt to the action because of a backstretch flip by Doug Manmiller.
Five time track champion Jeff Strunk, working his way toward the front from his
10th place starting position was sent to the rear of the field for a rule
infraction.
On the restart Jason Hamilton went to the front and looked as if he could be on
his way to his first Grandview Speedway NASCAR Modified feature win.
Kerry Kratz brought out the caution as he hit the wall in between turns three
and four. On the restart Danny Erb charged to the front as he and Hamilton made
contact.
At 20-laps Danny Erb was in charge but now Duane Howard and his BPG
Racing/Troyer Engineering No. 4 had come from 12th to challenge for the lead.
On the 27th lap Howard and Erb went side -by-side with Howard getting the top
spot and leading the final three laps to take his fourth win of the season at
the Bechtelsville oval.
In victory lane Howard (Oley) was quick to give much of the credit for his win
to his chief mechanic Alan Finch. “Finch tuned it up after the Cash Dash and the
car just worked well. It looked like Erb was shutting off in the corners and
that allowed me to go low and take the lead,” said Howard. “The car worked on
the bottom.”
When asked by victory lane announcer Pete Knappenberger if he was now planning
to stay at Grandview, Howard responded with, “I think we will be here for a
while. We are working so well here.” Howard continues to be the point leader in
the Modified division.
Second spot went to Danny Erb (Boyertown) followed by Jason Hamilton (Erwinna),
Jeff Strunk (Mohnton) and Shawn Reimert (Oley).
Qualifying heat races for the Modifieds were won by Doug Manmiller, Vince
Gagliardo, Duane Howard and Jason Hamilton. The consolations were taken by Ryan
Beltz and Rick Schaffer. The Wink Motorsports Cash Dash went to Duane Howard.
The United Racing Company qualifiers were won by Joe Zuczek, Josh Weller and
Todd Rittenhouse. The B Main went to Brian Seidel.
The Cornerstone Auto Sales of Fleetwood, PA Hard Charger Awards went to Mike
Gular who went from 25th to 8th in the NASCAR Modified feature race. The gain of
17 positions earned him the $50 bonus.
Hatfield Quality Meats will sponsor the tripleheader show of racing action on
Saturday, June 23rd featuring the NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models and Xcel 600
Modifieds in a 7:30 p.m. show. Smiley, the popular Hatfield mascot, is expected
to be on hand to shoot some hot dogs into the stands and, perhaps, some other
goodies.
On Saturday, June 30th, Allstate Insurance Co. will sponsor the doubleheader
show of NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models starting at 7:30 p.m.

the racing action has been completed to collect autographs, take pictures and

TOMMY SHEETZ JR. AND MIKE KELLNER SHARE THE GLORY IN NASCAR FEATURES
AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY SATURDAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA JUNE 10, 2007 . . . Second generation racer Tommy Sheetz Jr.
of Boyertown, PA drove the Jeff D’Ambrosio Dodge sponsored No. 37x Modified to
victory in the 30-lap WNPV-AM Radio NASCAR Whelen All American Series Modified
stock car feature race at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night. The win was the
first of his career. The 20-lap feature for the NASCAR Late Models went to Mike
Kellner of Lansdale, PA for his second win of the season.
Sheetz started in the pole position and led the 29 car field to get the green
flag from honorary starter Harry “The Wild Thing” Turner, a former racer at
Grandview Speedway. The young driver never gave up the top spot throughout the
30-lap feature race.
Sheetz, denied a victory a season or so before when he dominated most of the
race, kept this mount in the low groove and held off strong challenges for much
of the final 10-laps from veteran racer Mike Gular, who was coming off a feature
win at Penn Can Speedway the night before. Gular tossed everything he had at
Sheetz, running high and low, but just did not seem to have the power to get by
the fleet running youngster.
At the finish Sheetz was just a narrow margin in front of second place finisher
Mike Gular of Lansdale. Third went to Duane Howard (Oley) who had made some
strong challenges and ran as high as second from his 12th place starting
position. Howard retained his point lead in the NASCAR Modified division. Jeff
Strunk (Mohnton), five time track champion, finished fourth with six time track
champion Craig VonDohren (Oley) finishing fifth.
To say it was not an easy win for Sheetz would be an understatement. The excited
Sheetz said in victory lane, “This is a first time for me in victory lane. I
don’t know what to say. My dad raced here for many years and it is great to get
a win for our team. We had a good motor and a good car and a hard working bunch
of guys.”
John Geisler was the pace setter in the early laps of the Late Model feature
race before young Mike Kellner, coming from 10th, grabbed the lead. At the
midway point Kellner had control with Chuck Schutz, the defending Late Model
champion, giving the leader a challenge. A couple laps late Randy Stoudt charged
up to challenge the leader and he kept the pressure on.
Even a caution on the 19th lap forcing a green/checker finish did not allow
Stoudt the opportunity to get by the Lansdale youngster and his Power Washer No.
57. Stoudt (Pottstown) settled for second followed by Chuck Schutz (Pottstown),
four time Late Model champion Dean Stoudt (East Greenville) and Ron Kline (Salford).
The win put Mike Kellner in the lead for the 2007 Late Model championship.
Qualifying heat wins for the Late Models went to Kyle Merkel, Mike Kellner and
Dean Stoudt. In the NASCAR Modified division qualifying heat races were won by
Mike Gular, Tommy Sheetz Jr., Ryan Beltz and Don Norris. Consolation victories
went to Kevin Hirthler and Kyle Weiss.
The Cornerstone Auto Sales of Fleetwood, PA Hard Charger Awards went to Duane
Howard in the NASCAR Modifieds coming from 12th to finish third in the 30 lap
feature. Two other drivers (Don Norris and Terry Meitzler) each gained nine
spots as did Howard but the $50 cash award, in case of ties, goes to the driver
finishing in the highest position. In the Late Models the $50 went to Ron Kline
coming from 18th to finish 5th.
On Saturday, June 16th the always exciting United Racing Company sprint cars
will be in action with the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Modifieds at 7:30
p.m. as part of Troy Wink Motorsports Night with eight lucky fans getting the
chance to view the action from the sponsor suite.
Hatfield Quality Meats will sponsor the tripleheader show of racing action on
Saturday, June 23rd featuring the NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models and Xcel 600
Modifieds in a 7:30 p.m. show.
Grandview Speedway racers Bobby Gunther Walsh and Bill Henning will have their
cars on display as part of the Oval Track Day celebration at the Capital in
Harrisburg, PA on June 19th. Racers from tracks across the Keystone State will
have their cars as part of the display which will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Oval Track Day in Pennsylvania is designed to bring more attention to the
sport from legislators in Harrisburg.
Fans are reminded that they are free to visit with the racers in the pits after
the racing action has been completed to collect autographs, take pictures and
see the race cars up close. Many of the race teams do have FREE photo cards for
fans and also offer t-shirts and other souvenir items for sale.

GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY OFFERS PENALTY POINTS
ADJUSTMENT BUT CAN NOT CHANGE THE LONG STANDING RULES
BECHTELSVILLE, PA June 7, 2007 . . . “We are disappointed that NASCAR Modified
race car driver and car owner Troy Wink (Wink Motorsports) has chosen not to
continue racing at Grandview Speedway,” said Tina Rogers Missimer (Assistant
General Manager). “We stand by our decision to have in place rules that are for
all the racers and these rules have been in place for a number of years. ”
After four days of negotiations track management has learned, through a posting
on an internet website, that Wink Motorsports has decided that they will no
longer compete at Grandview Speedway. The team is not in agreement with Speedway
management regarding a rule, that has been in place at the NASCAR sanctioned
track for more than six years, that gives penalty points to newcomers and those
who miss weekly racing events without advising Speedway management.
At the beginning of each season each team is advised, with written notice,
regarding the PENALTY POINTS rule.
The rule is the same for Modified and Late Model racers.
Grandview Speedway allows a driver to have two weeks off for personal business
without earning penalty points during the season. These penalty points are used
for lining up the qualifying events and have no impact on the championship point
standings. It is the RESPONSIBILITY of the race driver or car owner to call the
speedway or notify one of the officials in the pit office that they will not be
able to compete on a given night. A record is kept in the pit office.
There will be NO EXCEPTIONS made. If officials do not hear from the race team
about their car not racing or that the team wishes to use one of their personal
nights, the team will automatically receive PENALTY POINTS. Race teams are
advised to keep in mind that these penalty points remain with the team for the
entire race season.
“We did make every effort to come to what we feel was a reasonable solution to
Mr. Wink’s complaint even offering to adjust the penalty points,” said Missimer.
“However that solution had to reflect fairness to all the racers that compete at
Grandview Speedway and not just one team. As a new racer at Grandview it was Mr.
Wink’s responsibility to make himself aware of the rules and procedures that are
in place.
“Certainly we feel bad that Mr. Wink was injured (not at Grandview Speedway) and
was unable to compete in the first couple of events. That was taken into
consideration when we offered to make adjustments. The penalty points really
have nothing to do with when he started his season with us. As a newcomer he
would have had penalty points in place no matter when he started.”
This rule is in place to keep race teams from trying to manipulate the system
and obtain a choice starting position by picking and choosing the events they
want to run. In the past teams had been able to figure out the system to the
point that some would show up for events only when they had figured they would
have a good starting position in a qualifying event. The PENALTY POINT SYSTEM
keeps that from happening. It protects the teams that support Grandview Speedway
on a regular basis.
“Mr. Wink and his team are welcome to return to race at Grandview Speedway,”
Missimer said. “He and his representatives, apparently acting on his behalf,
have been advised of the rules and procedures that he will have to follow as
mentioned previously. It is the same as it would be for any new racer coming to
our track.
“We wish the team the very best with their racing efforts. And we do appreciate
that Wink Motorsports and their sponsors plan to fulfill the sponsor obligations
that they have agreed to for the balance of the season.”
Wink Motorsports will be the sponsor of the June 16th United Racing Company
sprint car and NASCAR modified doubleheader show at Grandview Speedway.

HOWARD AND KLINE AGAIN IN VICTORY LANE AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA JUNE 3, 2007 . . . For the third time this season and the
second Saturday in a row Duane Howard of Oley, PA wheeled the BPG Racing/ Troyer
Engineering No. 4 to victory in the 30-lap Jeff D’Ambrosio Dodge NASCAR Whelen
All American Modified Series feature race at Grandview Speedway. The 20-lap Late
Model feature had Ron Kline of Salford, PA bringing his V&M Towing/P.K.Moyer No.
3 to victory lane for the second time this season.
Tommy Sheetz Jr. led the 28-car starting field to the green. Congestion on the
main straightaway caused early race problems before a lap could be completed
with Craig VonDohren and Rick Schaffer being eliminated from the field.
Sheetz Jr. got credit for leading the first lap with young Don Norris grabbing
the top spot on the second circuit of the one-third-mile, banked clay oval.
Norris continued to be in command until the ninth lap when Ryan Watt got under
him n the fourth turn and took the lead.
Once in front Watt looked like he might have what it takes to earn a victory. He
set the pace until the 23rd lap when Brad Missimer brought out the caution with
a flat tire. On the start after the caution Duane Howard, who had come from 12th
starting spot, charged in front of the field.
With control of the race Howard was able to lead the balance of the 30-laps and
grab the win and the $2,200 that goes with the victory. The win put Howard in
front in the chase for the lucrative track and NASCAR championships.
In victory lane Howard had high praise for the crew and said, “Everything is
going our way right now but that could change quickly.”
Second spot went to Ryan Watt (Boyertown) with Jeff Strunk (Mohnton) coming from
22nd to grab third. John Willman (Birdsboro) had an impressive run gaining a
fourth place finish and Cliff Quinn (Coopersburg) had his best effort of the
early second grabbing fifth.
The Modified feature had many cautions for a variety of accidents and mechanical
problems with no one being injured.
Rick Todorow took control of the 20-lap NASCAR Whelen Late Model feature with
the waving of the green. However a five car pileup slowed things early and on
the 4th circuit Dean Stoudt ended his night against the third turn wall after an
altercation with another racer.
Randy Stoudt, a two feature winner and the point leader, crashed in the third
turn in a single car accident and eliminated himself from the race.
Ron Kline turned out to be the class of the field as he grabbed his second win
of the season. A great comeback from the week before when he crashed hard in the
third turn and his crew worked long hours all week getting the car back in race
ready condition.
Kline had a relatively easy time once he got the lead and was able to hold off
teenager Mike Kellner in the final laps to grab the win. Second spot went to
Kellner (Lansdale) with early racer leader Rick Todorow (Quakertown) getting
third followed by last Saturday’s winner Chuck Schutz (Pottstown) and Brian
Shuey (Shoemakersville). Shuey is now the Late Model point leader.
Qualifying heat races for the NASCAR Modifieds went to Ryan Watt, Craig
VonDohren, Duane Howard and Cliff Quinn with the consolation victories being
earned by Tom Umbenhauer and Jeff Strunk.
In the Late Model qualifiers wins were earned by Mike Kellner, Rick Todorow and
Kyle Merkel.
The Cornerstone Auto Sales of Fleetwood, PA Hard Charger Awards went to Chuck
Schutz in the Late Models going from 18th to finish fourth while in the
Modifieds Jeff Strunk earned the award going from 22nd to third.
The NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models will be the featured attractions during the
WNPV- 1440 AM Radio Night on Saturday, June 9nd. One lucky fan will win a
Pennsylvania 500 (August) at Pocono Raceway ticket package valued at $500. The

HOWARD WINS MOD FEATURE ON LAST LAP, SCHUTZ GETS FIRST WIN OF THE
SEASON IN LATE MODELS AT GRANDVIEW
BECHTELSVILLE, PA MAY 27, 2007 . . . Not even a 90 minute rain delay, Randy
Bailey leading 29 laps or an engine that was belching smoke could keep Duane
Howard from winning his second of the season in the 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All
American Modified Series race at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night. The
20-lap Late Model race, part of Arnold’s Karting Center (Oaks, PA) Night, was
won by defending champion Chuck Schutz for his first win of the season.
Once the Modifieds got settled down, two accidents before one lap was completed,
fans that waited out the rain delay were treated to a fantastic feature event.
Randy Bailey, a semi-retired veteran of stock car racing competition, put his
Precision Motor Cars No.IK in front of the pack early. In fact it was all Randy
Bailey until the midway point when Duane Howard, coming from 11th, started to
put pressure on Bailey with his BPG Racing/Maverick’s Motorcycle Club No. 4.
The balance of the feature race was a battle between leader Bailey and
challenger Howard ( smoke belching from the engine) with Ray Swinehart, Doug
Manmiller and Jeff Strunk waiting for the two leaders to make mistakes.
With just one-half lap left in the feature, the leaders headed down the
backstretch of the one-third-mile, banked clay oval Howard made his move and
charged under Bailey in turn three. Bailey tried to regain his lost lead to no
avail and was just a slim margin behind Howard at the finish.
In victory lane the Oley racer gave all the credit to his crew and engine man
for his victory effort. Howard did point out that the Troyer chassis racer was
down on power in one cylinder and that was the reason for the belching smoke.
Second spot went to Bailey (Kutztown) who stopped at victory lane to
congratulate the winner. Past champion Ray Swinehart (Bechtelsville) finished
third followed by point leader Doug Manmiller (Shoemakersville) and five time
track champion Jeff Strunk (Mohnton).
The Late Model feature saw Chuck Schutz get his first win of the season and what
could only be called a crash fest with 17 minutes being spent on getting one lap
completed.
Teenage ace Kyle Merkel went to the front at the start and holding the lead
until the fourth lap when Schutz brought his Jesse Baro Trucking/Maverick’s
Motorcycle Club No. 1 to the front from a fourth place starting position.
At the midway point Schutz had a comfortable lead on the field with four time
champion Dean Stoudt running in second and trying to pressure the leader. At the
19th lap with Schutz leading comfortably Ron Kline and Dean Stoudt had a
tremendous side-by-side battle going on for second. Unfortunately two lapped
cars blocked the track, causing Stoudt and Kline to take evasive action and
Kline ended up in the third turn wall.
With the checkered flag in the air Schutz (Pottstown) drove to victory followed
by Dean Stoudt (East Greenville), Kyle Merkel (Gilbertsville), Mike Kellner
(Lansdale) and Brian Shuey (Hamburg).
Qualifying heat wins for the Late Models went to Schutz, Kline and Kellner. In
the Modifieds qualifying event wins were earned by Jeremy Banos, Ryan Grim, Jon
Kellner Jr. and Randy Bailey while the consolation races were won by Danny Erb
and Shawn Reimert.
SPONSORSHIP CONTEST WINNER ANNOUNCED. Modified racer Todd Marburger did not win
the feature race but he did go home a winner. Marburger, who battles the dread
disease MS, picked up more than $3,000 in cash and prizes for winning the
Grandview Speedway/BPG Racing Sponsorship contest. Marburger, by vote of the
judges, submitted the best sponsorship proposal and will receive $1,500 from
Chad Sinon (BPG Racing), a sponsorship kit from Ernie Saxton Communications,
Inc., a website created by Blake Tobias Motorsports and $250 worth of photo
cards from Racerboy Marketing. Marburger gave crew member Chad Shalaway much of
the credit for the creation of the outstanding proposal.
In a surprise announcement Sinon also presented a $1,000 check to Bill Henning
and the Henning Motorsports Late Model team.
“The judging was so close that Chad felt that it would only be fair to give a
second place award,” said Grandview Speedway public relations director Ernie
Saxton. “There were several great proposals entered in the contest. It was a
tough pick but Todd and Bill did an outstanding job in winning the contest. And
a great big thank you goes to Chad Sinon for his support along with the support
of the others.”
The Cornerstone Auto Sales of Fleetwood, PA Hard Charger Awards went to Randy
Stoudt in the Late Models as he improved 12 positions in the feature having
started 18th and finishing 6th. The Modified Hard Charger award was earned by
John Willman who started 22nd and finished 7th in the 30-lap feature race.
The NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models will be the featured attractions during the
Jeff D’Ambrosio Dodge Night on Saturday, June 2nd. The spectator gates open at
5:30 p.m. for the show with racing at 7:30 p.m. p.m. Adult admission price is
$12 with children 6 through 11 admitted for $5. Under 6 admitted FREE with a

Coming up on Wednesday, June 6th is a doubleheader open cockpit racing
spectacular featuring the United States Auto Club sprints and the American
Racing Drivers Club midgets. Racing gets the green at 7:30 p.m.
A change in the Grandview Speedway schedule has the 358 Modifieds joining the
410 sprint cars on July 3rd as part of the Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek event.
Fans are reminded that they are free to visit with the racers in the pits after
the racing action has been completed to collect autographs, take pictures and

FULL STORY: CRAIG VONDOHREN AND RANDY STOUDT ARE WINNERS IN NASCAR STOCK CAR
RACING AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA MAY 19, 2007 . . Six time track champion Craig VonDohren of
Oley, PA drove the Flurer Machine Shop/Stauffer Construction No. 1c to victory
on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway in the 30-lap Auto Locator Magazine
NASCAR Whelen All American Series Modified feature race. In the companion
20-lapper for the Late Models Randy Stoudt of Pottstown was able to bring the TP
Trailers/Rogers Auto Parts/Paradise Road Slot Track No. 10 home first in the
Auto Locator Magazine sponsored event.
“We had a handful,” said VonDohren in victory lane. “We kept killing our self on
the bottom. We lucked out tonight.”
With drizzling rain keeping the track in super fast condition Bobby Gunther
Walsh was able to put his Enter Net One sponsored entry in front of the 29-car
starting field for the first lap. On the second circuit Mike Gular charged to
the front with the T.H.Properties No. 53.
At 10-laps Gular was still in charge with Craig VonDohren putting pressure on
him running the low groove. Danny Erb was third.
Just a few laps earlier Walsh and Jeff Strunk made contact with Walsh losing a
wheel in the second turn and was done for the night. Strunk also had enough
damage on his mount to take it to the pits done for the night.
At the midway mark young Gular continued to hold off VonDohren with Rick
Schaffer now running third.
It was not until the 26th circuit of the one-third-mile banked clay oval that
VonDohren was able to take command with Rick Schaffer moving to second.
At the finish VonDohren, winner of 56 features at the Berks County oval, was
just a few car lengths in front of second place Rick Schaffer (Woxall) followed
by Danny Erb (Boyertown), Mike Gular (East Greenville) and Doug Manmiller
(Shoemakersville).
Duane Howard was able to come from 22nd starting spot to finish sixth.
Wayne Pfeil put his mount in front of the pack getting in front of polesitter
John Giesler before the end of the first lap in the 20-lap Late Model feature
race. Defending champion Chuck Schutz had something break on the front of his
Maverick’s Motorcycle Club No. 1 and headed for the pits done for the night.
At the five lap marker Pfeil made contact with the wall in turn two but was able
to continue but John Giesler was back in front of the 24 car starting field. At
10 laps it was Giesler, Brian Shuey and Randy Stoudt but just one lap later
Stoudt had made a bold move and took control of the race.
Stoudt lead the rest of the way with Ron Kline (Green Lane), coming from 21st
starting spot, coming on in the late laps to challenge but falling short and
settling for second. Third spot went to Brian Shuey (Shoemakersville) followed
by Mike Kellner (Lansdale) and Kyle Merkel (Gilbertsville).
Qualifying heat races for the Modifieds were won by Bobby Gunther Walsh, Mike
Gular, Shawn Reimert and Doug Manmiller while consolation wins were earned by
Duane Howard and Jon Kellner Jr. The Late Model qualifiers were won by Chuck
Schutz, Brian Shuey and Mark Malcolm. The qualifying heats for the Late Models
were run on May 12th before rain washed out the balance of the racing program.
The Cornerstone Auto Sales of Fleetwood, PA Hard Charger Awards went to Ron
Kline in the Late Models for coming from 21st starting spot to finish second
while Meme DeSantis earned the Hard Charger award in the Modified feature coming
from 29th to finish 10th.
The World of Outlaws sprint car racers will be going up against the Pennsylvania
Posse on Wednesday, May 23rd at 7:30 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m.
Fans attending the next three Saturday night events at Grandview Speedway will
have a chance to win seats in the Wink Motorsports Hospitality Suite on June
16th when the URC Sprints and NASCAR Modifieds run in a doubleheader. Fans will
win the seats by luck of the draw using rain checks and coupons in the track
magazine, the Grandview Groove. Wink Motorsports is sponsoring the June 16th
show.
The NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models will be the featured attractions during the
Arnold’s Go Kart Center (Oaks, PA) Night on Saturday, May 26th. The spectator
gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. p.m. Adult admission price is
$12 with children 6 through 11 admitted for $5. Under 6 admitted FREE with a
paying adult. Always free parking on the speedway grounds.

MA NATURE BRINGS RAIN TO GRANDVIEW ON MOTHER’S DAY EVE
BECHTELSVILLE, PA MAY 12, 2007 . . . You would think Ma Nature would have been
in a good mood since Mother’s Day was the very next day. However Ma Nature
proved to be in a bad humor as she brought heavy rain to Grandview Speedway on
Saturday night (May 12th) forcing postponement of the NASCAR Whelen All American
Modified and Late Model stock car racing events.
Three Late Model qualifying events had been completed with wins going to
defending champion Chuck Schutz, Brian Shuey and Mark Malcolm. One qualifying
heat race for the Rolling Thunder Legends had been won by Mark Schaffer and a
second event was on the track when the rains came turning the one-third-mile,
banked clay oval into a sea of mud.
Next Saturday, May 19th, the Modifieds and Late Models will return. The Legends
will not be able to return until their next scheduled appearance which is set
for July 21st as part of Jesse Baro Trucking Night.
The NASCAR Modifieds will run all their qualifying events topped off by a 30-lap
feature starting 28 racers. The Late Models will have their 20-lap feature to
run. Racing will get the green at 7:30 p.m. The Saturday, May 19th events will
be sponsored by Auto Locator Magazine.
Modified point leader Meme DeSantis will be looking to pick up his first feature
win of the season and current Late Model point leader Randy Stoudt will be
looking to add to his already impressive resume of career victories.
All rain checks are good for the Saturday, May 19th show or they can be used for
the May 26th Arnold’s Go Kart Center Night.
Fans are reminded that the nationally famous World of Outlaw sprint cars will be
action at Grandview Speedway on Wednesday, May 23rd. They will go up against the
always tough Pennsylvania Posse sprint racers in a full series of qualifying
heats leading up to an exciting feature event.

MERKEL, STOUDT AND KLINE WIN SATURDAY NIGHT NASCAR FEATURES AT GRANDVIEW
SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA MAY 6, 2007 . . . Three features with three different winners
made for an exciting Saturday night of NASCAR Whelen All American Series stock
car racing at Grandview Speedway.
Young Sean Merkel led every lap of the 30-lap Whelen Engineering Night Modified
feature race to earn his first win of the season and the second of his career.
Past champion Ron Kline rode to victory in the 20-lap Late Model feature that
was left from a rained out show on April 14th while Randy Stoudt was the winner
in the regularly scheduled 20-lapper for Late Models.
With 28-cars starting the Modified feature Merkel (Gilbertsville) was quick to
take command from his second place starting position. In the early stages
veteran talent Larry Soloman put some heavy pressure on the leader. Mike Gular
moved up to challenge the leader at 10 laps. Six time track champion Craig
VonDohren brought out a caution when he spun in turns three and four. A few laps
later VonDohren was out of the race with front end problems. At the halfway mark
past champion Ray Swinehart charged into second spot and put pressure on the
leader.
A slower car gave Merkel a problem with five laps to go and damaged Swinehart’s
car but he was able to continue. The final five laps were a down to the wire
battle between Merkel and Swinehart.
Merkel thought he had broken something on the car and indicated that Swinehart
had him worried in the late stages of the race. “We had a tough 2006 season and
this season did not start out that well,” said Merkel. “I never would have
believed we would be here (victory lane) tonight.”
Merkel, driving the Merkel Rebar/Pheasantland Roller Rink No. 118, picked up
$2,200 for his winning efforts. Swinehart (Bechtelsville) grabbed second
followed by Mike Gular (Green Lane), Jeff Strunk (Mohnton) and Larry Soloman
(Birdsboro).
The first 20-lapper for Late Models had Dean Stoudt, a four time Late Model
kingpin, setting the pace early. A multi-car accident brought out the caution on
the second lap and Stoudt spun on the third lap and went to the rear of the
field. Ron Kline went to the front of the pack and spent the rest of the feature
holding off challenges from Brian Shuey and Randy Stoudt. At the finish Kline
(East Greenville), a past champion, had a comfortable lead with his V&M Towing
No. 3 over Randy Stoudt (Pottstown) followed by Brian Shuey (Hamburg), Mike
Kellner (Lansdale) and Sean Merkel (Gilbertsville).
In victory lane Kline said, “We missed the setup last week with this new car. We
had it hooked up tonight.”
Wayne Pfeil looked impressive as he took the early lead. A multi-car accident
wiped out a few of the top talents with defending champion Chuck Schutz and Ron
Kline caught up in someone else’s mistake. Pfeil was able to keep his No. 72 in
front of the pack and gave Randy Stoudt quite a battle for the top spot before
past champion Stoudt put his Rogers Auto Parts/TP Trailers sponsored No. 10 in
front of the pack on the 8th lap and that was where he stayed until the
checkered flag fell.
Brian Shuey (Hamburg) tried to make a close race of it but had to settle for
second as Stoudt had a comfortable lead at the finish. Wayne Pfeil (Mohnton)
came home with an impressive third followed by Rick Todorow (Lansdale) and Dean
Stoudt (Green Lane).
Qualifying heats for the Late Models went to Ron Kline, Brian Shuey and Rick
Todorow.
Qualifying events for the Modifieds were won by Doug Manmiller, Mike Gular, Jeff
Strunk and Ryan Watt. The two consolation victories went to Kyle Weiss and Tom
Umbenhauer.
Fans and racers combined to collect $2,531 for veteran modified racer Smokey
Warren who is battling brain cancer and has no health insurance.
The Cornerstone Auto Sales of Fleetwood, PA Hard Charger Awards went to Jeff
Strunk in the Modifieds gaining 8 spots having started 12th and finishing 4th.
In the Late Models Brian Sipe went from 16th to 8th in the second 20 lapper
while Randy Stoudt went from 10th to 2nd in the first 20 lap feature. Each
driver receives $50 from Cornerstone Auto Sales.
NASCAR Whelen All American Modifieds, Late Models and Rolling Thunder Legends
will be in action on Saturday May 12th with at least 13 events of stock car
racing action making up Checkered Flag Fan Club Night. State Representative Doug
Reichley (134th District) will present Bruce Rogers a proclamation honoring his
45 years of successful business operations. The spectator gates open at 5:30
p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. p.m. Adult admission price is $13 with children 6
through 11 admitted for $5. Under 6 admitted FREE with a paying adult. Always
free parking on the speedway grounds.
Coming up on May 19th is AutoLocator Magazine Night feature the NASCAR Modifieds
and Late Models with the World of Outlaws sprint car racers going up against the
Pennsylvania Posse on Wednesday, May 23rd.
Fans are reminded that they are free to visit with the racers in the pits after

HOWARD, STRUNK, KELLNER, ROCHELLE WIN FEATURES IN FRONT OF BIG CROWD
AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA APRIL 22, 2007. . . Past champions Duane Howard and Jeff
Strunk, young talent Mike Kellner and visitor Jason Rochelle kicked of the
Grandview Speedway 2007 season, officially, with victories on Saturday night at
the Berks County oval.
In the opening event of the night, the completion of the 40-lap NASCAR Whelen
All American Series Modified feature race that was stopped because of rain the
previous Saturday, three time track champion Duane Howard was able to take the
lead on the 26th lap and take the Maverick’s Motorcycle Club owned #114 Modified
to victory lane.
Mike Gular led the field for the restart with 13 laps in the record book Jeff
Strunk, a five time track champion, applied pressure as did Doug Manmiller. The
pressure caught up to all of them on the 23RD circuit, in the second corner of
the one-third-mile, banked clay oval, when all three tried to fit in a space
made for, perhaps, just one. The end result was that Gular’s THProperties entry
was out for the night, Strunk was restarting at the back and Manmiller, who had
survived the accident, was sent to the rear for causing the melee.
On the restart Kevin Hirthler was able to take command but that was short lived
with Howard moving to the front and that is where the Oley, PA veteran stayed
until the checkered flag came out. It was the second year in a row that Howard
collected the $3,000 first prize money for winning the opener.
Second spot went to Meme DeSantis (Temple) followed by Craig VonDohren (Oley),
Kevin Hirthler (Green Lane) and Shawn Reimert (Oley).
The 30-lap NASCAR Modified feature race saw Jeff Strunk bringing the Gold Rush
Custom Trailers/Touch of Green Landscaping #126 Modified to victory lane. The
Mohnton, PA racer chased Rick Schaffer for the first half of the race getting by
him on the 13th circuit only to have Schaffer take it back on the 14th lap. At
the 18th marker Strunk went to the front and stayed until the checkered flag
dropped. Doug Man miller (Wyomissing) was putting pressure on Strunk at the
finish but had to settle for second followed by Meme DeSantis (Temple), Rick
Schaffer (Woxall) and Duane Howard (Oley).
The second and third place finishes for the night put Meme DeSantis in front of
the NASCAR Modified point standings with 588 counters compared to second place
Duane Howard with 577.
The Late Model 20-lapper had Mike Kellner going to the front early and holding
off strong early race challenges from defending champion Chuck Schutz. The
Lansdale teenager led just about all the laps in grabbing the win. Schutz
(Pottstown) finished a strong second followed by past champion Ron Kline (Green
Lane), Dean Stoudt (East Greenville) and Kyle Merkel (Gilbertsville).
Randy Stoudt, the leading feature winner in Late Models of the active drivers,
was working his way toward the front, trying to get win number 38 when he spun,
He came back to finish 9th.
Jason Rochelle of Schnecksville, PA came from 8th starting spot to grab the lead
late in the 15-lap feature for the Rolling Thunder Legends cars and go on to
grab the victory. Keeping it in the family Paul Rochelle finished second
followed by Steve Nederostek, Randy Kissinger and Tim Henry.
Heat wins for the Legends went to Jason Rochelle, Ronnie Dunstan and Tom
Mayberry while the consolation victory went to Tyler Bear.
Qualifying heat wins for the Late Models were earned by Chuck Schutz, Mike
Kellner and Dean Stoudt.
Heat wins for the Modifieds, leading up to the 30-lap feature, were taken by
Duane Howard, Kevin Hirthler, Donny Erb, Meme DeSantis and Jeff Strunk.
Consolation wins went to Larry Soloman, Danny Erb and Jon Kellner Jr.
The Cornerstone Auto Sales of Fleetwood, PA Hard Charger Awards went to Danny
Erb in the 40-lap Modified feature for gaining 21 spots to finish 6th after
starting 27th. In the 30-lap Modified feature race the Cornerstone award went to
Kyle Weiss gaining 18 spots after staring 25th and finishing 7th. Mark Malcomb
earned the $50 Cornerstone Hard Charger Award in the 20-lap Late Model feature
coming from 17th to 10th.
NASCAR Whelen All American Modifieds and Late Models will be in action on
Saturday April 28th with at least 13 events of stock car racing action. Two
20-lap features for Late Models and a 30-lap Modified feature will top the
program. The spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Adult
admission price is $12 with children 6 through 11 admitted for $5. Under 6
admitted FREE with a paying adult. Always free parking on the speedway grounds.
Fans are reminded that they are free to visit with the racers in the pits after
the racing action has been completed to collect autographs, take pictures and

MA NATURE THREATENS SERIOUSLY COLD WEATHER AND POSSIBLE SNOW SHOWERS
SO THE 45TH SEASON OF STOCK CAR RACING NOW KICKS OFF AT GRANDVIEW ON APRIL 14TH
BECHTELSVILLE, PA APRIL 6, 2007 . . . The kickoff of the 45th consecutive season
of stock car racing action at Grandview Speedway, that had been scheduled for
Saturday, April 7th, has been delayed a week and will now take place on
Saturday, April 14th at 7 p.m.
“We just think that calling off the opener was the right thing to do. The
weather forecast is for bitterly cold weather and possible snow showers,” said
track owner Bruce Rogers. “We could have waited to see if Saturday brought a
better forecast but that was not likely. In all fairness to the racers, their
families, our fans and our employees, we felt that an early decision to postpone
the opener would be the best decision. Everyone can enjoy their Easter weekend
and be ready for a great opening night on April 14th.”
The opener will include the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Modifieds and Late
Model stock cars with a 40-lapper topping the program for the Modifieds with 29
cars starting the event. The Late Models will highlight their program with a 20
lap feature with 24 cars taking part.
At least 13 events of stock car racing will top the program with spectator gates
opening at 5 p.m. and warm-ups getting started about 6:30 p.m.
A strong field of racers, more than 70 cars, is expected to take part in the
season opener with six time Modified champion Craig VonDohren taking on
challenges from past champions Duane Howard, Terry Meitzler and Ray Swinehart.
Five time past champion Jeff Strunk had indicated he would be taking part in the
season opener but with the change in dates his participation was not confirmed

“We had a very impressive field of cars turn out for the Saturday practice

season for Saturday night stock car racing here at Grandview Speedway.”

night events during the month of April with all shows starting at 7 p.m.
Cornerstone Auto Sales of Fleetwood, PA will sponsor the “Hard Charger” award in

those money saving season passes that are available. Each season pass includes a

HANDICAPPING AND PROVISIONAL CHANGES AT GRANDVIEW
NEW RADIO RULES IN PLACE FOR 2007 SEASON
BECHTELSVILLE, PA MARCH 24, 2007 . . . The new season of NASCAR stock car racing
at Grandview Speedway will have some new procedures in place that will impact
handicapping and provisional starting spots for the Modified stock car racers.
In addition new rules regarding radios will be put in place.
“All the procedures being put in place we feel will improve racing for both the
fans and the racers during the 2007 season,” said promoter Bruce Rogers. “We
think that the changes will add excitement to the events, speed up the shows and
reward the top performers.”
On race nights when there are 50 modifieds or more trying to qualify there will
be five 12-lap qualifying heats with four cars qualifying for the feature race
from each heat. The first through third place finishers will transfer to the
feature in the first 15 spots, lowest in points of the qualified drivers will
start first. Feature starting positions 16th through 20th will be filled by the
fourth place finishing driver from each heat race. If the previous weeks feature
winner qualifies in a transfer position he/she will start 15th. The three
consolation races, 10 laps each, will take three cars each for the feature
making a starting field of 29 cars.
Should there be nights when only four qualifying heats (12 laps each) are
needed; five cars will qualify for the feature from each heat. Positions one
through three will transfer to the feature in the first 12 spots, lowest in
points of the qualified drivers starts first. Positions 13 through 20th in the
feature race will be the fourth and fifth place finishers from each heat race.
If the previous weeks feature winner qualifies in a transfer position he/she
will start 12th. The three consolation races will see three cars from each event
qualify for the feature race making a 29 car starting field.
Qualifying heat races will be lined up using the straight handicap system that
puts the low point racers to the front and the racers in the high point
standings positions to the back.
Each qualifying heat race for the Modifieds will carry a $50 reward for the
winner.
Again in 2007 Grandview Speedway will offer Modified stock car racers the
opportunity for provisional starting positions.
The top ten drivers in NASCAR track point standings from the end of 2006 will be
entitled to ONE provisional feature race start during the 2007 season. Each top
ten Modified car owner from the end of the 2006 season will be eligible to use
ONE provisional start in 2007.
During the 2007 season drivers in the top ten in 2007 Modified points will be
eligible for ONE provisional starting position during the ENTIRE season.
“The new provisional starting program will make it possible for a team to use
three provisionals total during the season if needed and if they qualify for
them,” said race director Mike Kelly. Those who may have questions should e-mail
me at KellyMI@PTD.NET.
There will be no changes in the Late Model race procedures.
Raceceiver radios will be MANDATORY for both the Modifieds and Late Models
effective June 1, 2007. Radios and transponders must be maintained in good
WORKING condition.
The 2007 season at Grandview Speedway will kick off with a free-to-the-public
practice session on Saturday, March 31st at noon. All types of racecars are
